The Chain Effect

The Chain Effect

Fortunately, I have an extensive home dispensary at my fingertips… as every naturopath would.

I immediately started on high dose vitamin C for healing, arnica tablets to decrease pain and swelling, magnesium for my back pain and I also rubbed copious amounts on arnica cream into the bruises. Later at work, I placed cold packs on my thighs (discreetly placed under my desk), and made an appointment with my osteopath, as I had also pulled my back out with the shock of running into a stationary object at high speed.

Thanks to excellent osteopathic care and speeding supplement taking, I found myself back on the running track within a week… in broad daylight… no point in tempting fate… and bruises were half their former selves!

The classic naturopathic remedy for any sports injury will always incorporate some or all of the following; vitamin C and rutin, zinc, arnica homeopathic pilllules and cream, glucosamine sulphate and type 2 collagen, or a vegetarian friendly nutritional combination such as silica, magnesium and lysine. Anti-inflammatory herbs such as Boswellia, turmeric and willow bark are also frequently prescribed. These supplements can also be used for post-operative connective tissue, muscle and bone repair.
