Sperm and folate team up!

Sperm and folate team up!

Recent research has confirmed the importance of adequate paternal folate (also known as vitamin B9 or folic acid), to influence the rates of conception, but also the health of the offspring. In an animal study, it was found that pregnancy rates increased by 32% when the male rats consumed a folate-sufficient diet, while the folate-deficient males experienced 24% more abnormalities in their offspring.

Folate is found in leafy greens spinach, beet greens, chard, asparagus, broccoli and kale. Given the current popularity of kale, consumption should not be too tricky!

And by the way, kale chips don’t really count!!!
