Key to contentment!

Key to contentment!

The New Year is the perfect time to implement a few minor shifts in attitude in order to benefit in all aspects of physical and mental health.

Some say the key to a contented life is to have the following:

  • something to do
  • something to look forward to
  • something/someone to love.

Let’s take the example of a walk!

Firstly, it is something to do! It can be an invigorating early morning walk being delighted by the sunrise or a glorious evening stroll observing the spectacular sunset. No one returns from a walk thinking, “oh dear that was a waste of time”!

Once in the groove of exercising each day, it becomes something to look forward to … yes! How many stunning Australian birds to see and hear during our morning stroll or while enjoying an evening amble. Let alone the joy of noticing seasonal changes within our native flora, and observing the dog community being taken for their time out.

To love a baby blackbird finding its way out of the nest, to love walking to watch a film at our local cinema, to love picking up our morning coffee and a chat with our friendly barista. And of course, on a nonwalk theme, to love our pets and of course our family and dear ones.

Let’s make 2025 a year of ticking our contentment boxes.

Final note, I refuse to make burpees as a something to do, something to look forward to, or something to love!

Down with the burpee!
