Good Exercise

Now, that’s good advice! Especially when it comes to exercise! I can’t tell you the number of times I hear these sad words, ‘But I don’t have time,’ in response to my gentle suggestion that some form of exercise needs to be fitted in to a patient’s health plan. Arrhh!!!
There is actually plenty of time, it’s up to us to decide how we will spend it. I know we all do live rather busy lives often with demanding schedules, but we can always sacrifice 30–45 minutes of sleep to get up a little earlier to exercise.
You may recall a study I mentioned last year which found that the more exercise we do, the more mitochondria we make. These are like little engines found in every cell in our body which manufacture energy. So, the more exercise we do, the more energy we produce, and of course our metabolic rate speeds up too. And what’s more, we produce more endorphins, or happy neurotransmitters, and our mood is elevated. So, why we choose not to exercise, given those amazing benefits?!
And I can ensure you, I have never heard a client say they feel worse for exercise! So come on, be honest, you DO have time to lace up those runners, and I guarantee you won’t even notice you’ve had a little less sleep once you hit the road…or pool…or gym!!
