A French lesson

A little like the messages on cigarette packs, Fumer Tue (smoking kills).
No wonder the French have one of the lowest incidences of obesity in the western world. They truly tend not to snack between meals.
They eat a light breakfast, have a sit-down lunch, generally taking one to one-and-a-half hours and they eat in a relaxed unhurried manner. Most French people then tend not to eat again until dinner time.
This is exemplary behavior!
Do we need to reach for a muesli bar, a handful of nuts, a Mars bar, a few Arnott’s assorted creams at the slightest sign of hunger? Of course not! Embrace that grumbling stomach and wait. Grazing is good for cows,
not recommended for humans. Being hungry for our meals is a good sign. Constant eating not only adds to the waist line, it slows down metabolic rate.
Alors, let’s try to be a little bit French in October, and “ne grignoter pas”!
