Here we go again

What didn’t you enjoy about the last lock down? Let’s ensure this time around it will be a more positive experience.

Was is a change to your exercise regime? A few extra COVID-Kilos? An overzealous baking obsession? Inability to see loved ones? Let’s examine those negatives and change our experience this time ’round…

Implement a new exercise routine, and stick with it decisively. Same time every day, out you go for that walk, or onto the hired exercise bike or treadmill. Lift some improvised weights. Write down your plan and commit to at least 45 minutes five days a week.

No more baking! Look into constructing new vegetarian dishes, soups or join the fermented family!

We can’t change the physical restrictions about seeing loved ones, but we have so many ways of maintaining contact.

Of course there is Zoom, Skype, Facetime, phone calls, emails etc. But how about writing to those close to us. Let’s make our own personalised postcards, construct a letter on lovely writing paper and be inventive. Nothing beats finding a personalised, lovingly written note in your letterbox.

Also remember to embrace all the positives in these restricted times. More time with the children, the peace and quiet of the streets and skies, the friendliness of strangers and the kindness of neighbours, time to attend to all those “must-do’s” and all those opportunities to pat a dog on its 100th walk for the day!

There is always a silver lining, but sometimes it takes a bit of enquiry and soul searching to find it.

Until the other side!
